Hindoo Fortune – Telling Card Game. Wehman Bros. New York. C. 1920s.
Rare Lenormand variant “Hindoo” fortune telling cards similar to the later and more widely published “Gypsy Witch” variant. Although it contains the same number of cards as the typical Lenormand deck, it replaces several of the set, introducing unique cards such as “The Bacchanalian” and “The Fairy” and “The Eye”.
Wehman Bros, publishers of cards as well as books on magic, dreams, magic tricks, and jokes, would later update the deck with a new box featuring different art in the 1940s.36 cards. Original instruction sheet in German and English. Cards crisp and bright. Box very good. Instruction sheet toned and slightly brittle with a few small edge tears. Very good overall.
