In addition to covering the religion and structure of the Carthaginian empire, the text describes the state and armies of Ethiopia and both groups interactions with the ancient Egyptians and provides detailed maps including archaeological sites. This copy once belonged to the Salem , Mass Public Library, an entertaining connection to the esoteric importance of the religions of the ancient Carthaginians and Egyptians (including human sacrifice).

Pastedowns and endpapers toned. Second free endpaper chipped along front margin. Partial tear to half title page along hinge. Library plates and stamps from Salem Mass Public Library. Includes three maps, two folding. Large fold out map of various ancient imperial holdings in Africa with slight tear to connecting hinge. Good condition.
