An original religious pamphlet from the remnants of New York’s Oneida Community lead by John Humphrey Noyes, published in the aftermath of the group’s collapse and Noyes’ self-exile to Canada to escape sex crime charges.

Broken into two sections, this short treatise offers 17 arguments for one of the central tenants of John Humphrey Noyes’ Perfectionist philosophy—that the Second Coming of Christ took place in 70 CE. Following this, the text provides 12 “practical consequences” of its earlier postulates, stressing that true Christian’s should familiarize themselves with the teachings of “the Primitive Church” and John Humphrey Noyes.
