First Edition Parker Publishing Grimoire The Magic Power of Witchcraft From Church and School of Wicca Founders Gavin and Yvonne Frost
Frost, Gavin and Yvonne. The Magic Power of Witchcraft. Parker Publishing. West Nyack, NY. 1976. First Edition.
The Magic Power of Witchcraft is an interesting, easy to follow 1970s grimoire written in a self-help style by Church and School of Wicca founders Gavin and Yvonne Frost. Founded in 1968 and the first US neopagan organization to receive IRS religious status, the Frost’s School of Wicca is distinct from the other strains put forward by Gerald Gardner, Raymond Buckland, or Alexander Sanders, emphasizing New Thought techniques and a lack of worship of gods or goddesses. The Frosts’ first book, The Witch’s Bible, was highly controversial in its original form but has been widely reprinted in a redacted edition.
Building a New Thought informed theory of witchcraft, this text covers the cultivation and use of magical power for healing, better finances, love, and social influence and control, as well as instructions for how to speak to the dead for advice.
