An advertising copywriter who claimed to have overcome undiagnosable illness with the power of mind, he was also the nephew of Peter F Collier, the founder of Collier’s Weekly. Noted for his direct, conversational style, Collier helped make metaphysical ideas digestible for a general audience helping bridge the gap between mind cure and New Thought and the modern self-help genre. One of the most successful New Thought authors of his era, his 1926 book The Secret of the Ages sold more than 300,000 copies in his lifetime. His other titles include The Book of Life (1925) and The God In You (1937).
