Final Issue of Psychedelic Amsterdam Underground Magazine Fox Published from Infamous Squat and Music Venue Paradiso

Vesga, J.V. Ricardo, ed. Fox #4. Amsterdam, Holland. [1970].

The final issue of Fox, formerly Paradiso Fox , published after the ultimately temporary closure of Paradiso, a 19th century church turned “grand psychedelic grotto” and performing art space which also served as the magazine’s office. Written in English and in Dutch, this issue brings together poetry from D.A. Levy, a recipe for marijuana extract, an expose on the torture of political prisoners in Brazil, Raoul Vaniegem on the Decline of Work, and a column from “Brother Rap Lee” entitled “Total Blackness” on the black experience with a reference to the then-recent death of Jimi Hendrix.  Originally established in 1967, Paradiso as a venue continues into the present day and is noted for famously hosting performances by Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Madonna, The Sex Pistols, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana and others over the years.

14pp, printed paper folio. Folded, minor wear at crease including small spine tear. Wear to page margins. Pages clean. Very good.
