This issue of Win Magazine, the quarterly journal of the New York Workshop in Nonviolence, includes a special report on the 27 imprisoned war resisters held at Allenwood Federal Prison Camp, providing an inmate’s counter coverage to the New York Times’ reporting on the December 21, 1968 “Christmas pilgrimage” to the facility by anti-Vietnam War activists.

The New York Workshop in Nonviolence was a direct action New York-based pacifist group which operated out of the local offices of the War Resisters League and sharing many of the same goals as the older organization. Active from 1965 to 1969, the New York Workshop was the originating publisher of Win Magazine was continued by the broader WRL until 1983.
